11 Year Old Girl Chosen to Win Shopping Spree Following a Compelling Handwritten Letter to Santa

(PRWeb) January 19, 2007 -- Though Halls Window Center (http://www.hallswindowcenter.com) in Sacramento normally sparks excitement in adult homeowners, this Christmas Halls presented 11 year old Lindsay with the gift of excitement in the form of a $500 gift certificate to the Arden Fair mall.

"What made Lindsay's letter so touching was her honesty," says Halls Window Center President Bob Grandinetti. In her letter, she confesses to Santa that she has in fact been "kind of mean" to her sister because she "gets kind of annoying," but that she's sorry and feels she deserves the prize for being "seventy-five percent more nice than good." "Honesty is a critical quality here at Halls and we felt that along with the sheer enjoyment of the letter, Lindsay's honesty was commendable enough to deserve the prize," Grandinetti says.

Also important to the Halls family is a sense of community which Lindsay also displayed in her letter with true 11-year-old passion. On her list of what Lindsay intends to buy with the prize money, is "a bigger TV for her sister to hog," along with teddy bears from Build-a-Bear Workshop, a Nintendo DS, and lots of jewelry from Clair's Boutique.

The contest sponsored by Halls Window Center was part of the company's ongoing effort to give back to the community. Located in Sacramento for over two decades, the window replacement company has become a fixture in the community and a starting point for many home beautification projects.
