City of Los Angeles Selects MobileDataforce's Mobile Inspections Solutions

Boise, ID (PRWeb) February 7, 2007 -- MobileDataforce®, a leading provider of business critical mobile software applications, today announced that they were selected by the City of Los Angeles, California, to provide a Mobile Inspection solution for asset and facilities management.

"Most government agencies that we are working with these days are seeking ways to do more with less," says Kevin Benedict, CEO of MobileDataforce. "The purpose of converting from paper inspection forms to a mobile inspection solution on handheld computers is to improve the speed, accuracy and efficiency of field inspections, data collection and conditional assessments in the field. All of these improvements enable agencies to complete more work, without adding more expenses."

MobileDataforce's mobile inspection software will be used by the Department of General Services, Building Maintenance Division to conduct conditional assessments on equipment and facilities at over 900 locations across the city. These locations include libraries, fire stations, police stations, communication centers, maintenance buildings, waste water and other municipal buildings. Inspections will be conducted in six areas: carpentry, HVAC, roofing, elevators, plumbing and electrical.

The inspectors will be using Symbol MC 9000K handheld computers and MobileDataforce's Inspection Solutions integrated with the city's computer managed maintenance system.
