"She's An American Soldier" Set to Begin Production on March 12, 2007: TRA-STAR Entertainment and BMJ-Nashville Join Forces in the Prod

Nashville, TN (Billboard Publicity Wire) March 6, 2007 -- TRA-STAR Entertainment, Inc. has announced the launch of a new project that pays an uplifting tribute to the millions of dedicated women who have in the past and presently serve in the armed forces of the United States. The project is centered on a new song written by Nashville songwriter and producer, Mark Carman, titled "She's An American Soldier".

The lyrics for the song were written by Carman while waiting for a connecting flight at the Atlanta airport. Carman was on his way to a business meeting in Virginia Beach, VA, when he made a scheduled stop in Atlanta. While waiting there, he observed a number of uniformed military personnel. Carman was particularly intrigued by the number of female soldiers in the group. He was especially one middle aged soldier whom he later learned was COL Mary C. Gomez, Commander, 5th BDE /95DIV (IT).

"I saw all those soldiers and was moved by the fact that many of those girls looked to be younger that my own daughter," said Carman. "Then I saw this woman, roughly my age, who was also dressed in her uniform. I then realized that this was probably somebody's mom, but as for right now, she's a soldier." Carman recalled the words of former prisoner of war Jessica Lynch when she said to her rescuers, "I'm An American Soldier too," and began to write the song "She's An American Soldier". Carman says he wrote the song as a tribute to COL Gomez, all the women who serve in America's armed forces, and the families of those who've paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of freedom.

In a recent telephone interview, TRA-STAR President Frank Scherman stated, "Obviously, the military is diverse in its makeup and not all musical styles will appeal everyone. So in a rather risky move we decided to combine three different genre of music into one production." The song will feature Country singer Steven Hall, Gospel/Soul singer; Shree Newman, Latina crooner; Johnny Vasquez., and a whole cast of other artists who will make cameo appearances on the recording. The producers painstakingly selected an all-star group of musicians to perform on "She's An American Soldier".

"These are some of the worlds best at what they do", said Carman who will producer the project. Their combined credits include more than 100 Grammy Awards. According to allmusic.com, their collective recording credits include performances with such artists as; Cher, Bryan Adams, Toto, George Straight, Alice Cooper, Billy Preston, Reba, Barbara Streisand, Alabama, Alan Jackson, and countless others. Their motion picture soundtrack credits include hit films such as ; Grease, Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, A Few Good Men, 8 Seconds on several others. Scheduled musicians include: Guitars; Bruce Watkins, Jeff King. Keyboards; Mike Rojas, Jeff Armstrong, Mark Carman, LaTosha Kelsey.
