Consumer Families Launch e-commerce Solution to Perpetually Fund Charities - National Shopping for Abundance with Clubco.com Launches this Week in New
New York, NY (Vocus) October 12, 2007 -- Today, a group of consumer families, tired of the traditional fund raising announced that have found a way to perpetually fund their favorite charities. They will be in New York City to share their "Shopping for Abundance (http://www.shoppingforabundance.org)" story from October 12th to October 17th.
Their goal is to meet with media and press in hopes that they will help share the online consumer shopping challenge which gives up to 5% cash back to charities with consumer e-purchases throughout the year. This cash back will go to participating non-profit organizations (all invited) and the cost to consumers shopping (all are welcome) is free.
According to Kristen Lamb, a woman faced with the opportunity of funding the Foundation House, a non-profit library of charities, it all started on a women?s talk radio show when a group of women from across the country, many with their own favorite charities, were talking about the stress and competition of fund raising -- the door-to-door sales, the ticket gathering, the non-nutritional items, and the stress of organizing events. They came up with the idea to perpetually fund good causes through retailer affiliations online.
?We took the idea to a new e-commerce shopping portal, CLUBCO.com, and its President Mark Nelson,? said Lamb. ?They agreed to give each of the non-profit organizations up to 5% cash back each time their shoppers shopped and gave their $35 Membership free to all who wanted to participate through the New Year.?
According to Kim Power Stilson, tired of clipping box tops mom and host of a women?s talk radio show supporting this idea, the concept is simple but when you add up the potential dollars for causes the possibilities to do ?good? are enormous.
?Shopping for Abundance will support non-profit organizations each time people shop all year long,? said Power Stilson. ?Shoppers pay normal price (or get great discounts) and retailers, through affiliate marketing, send the cash back as designated by the online membership number. We call it guilt free shopping and I don?t break my finger nails trying to cut the box tops out of the box!?
They decided to launch ?Shopping for Abundance? during the biggest commercial shopping season of the year to see if the 5% cash back to charities would make a difference. They are inviting every shopper and every charity to take Clubco Christmas Charity Challenge by committing to do all of their shopping online between now and the New Year. CLUBCO.com is donating all those who agree to take the challenge a free $35 annual membership.
The Clubco Christmas Charity Challenge is free for everyone. All charitable organizations can apply by filling out a simple form at www.shoppingforabundance.org. All shoppers invited and the $35 Membership is now free through the New Year thanks to Clubco.com. Shoppers fill out a form where they designate their favorite charity and receive an online shopping membership through an email. They use that when they shop and 5% cash on all their purchases is paid from the retailers to their cause.
The List of Charities is growing, to date the following have people shopping for their cause: Earth Share, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, National Anthem Project, Foundation for Effective Government, Prader-Willi Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Kids 4 Fit Kids Foundation, Loflin/Anaya Foundation, Mountainland Academy, One Heart Bulgaria, People Helping People, Signing Time Foundation, The Family Center of Utah Valley, The Foundation House, The Ive League Inc, World of Difference, Youth Visions, SSAFUNIII, It?s a Miracle Center, Chainbreaker Foundation, Bull By The Horns, RACE, Whitaker Wellness Institute, Aspen Academy, AFRIKSOUL, Great Life Foundation, Lifeback Inc, Rising American Indian Nation, Run for a Difference, Africa is Life Changing, Hearts & Hands In Action, Red Cross Mountain Valley Chapter, and Bald Girls Do Lunch.
