Online - The Shopping of Choice

(PRWEB) November 16, 2005 -- This holiday season there will be an ever-increasing number of shoppers meeting their gift-giving needs online, thereby overcoming the pressing crowds, over or under zealous sales clerks, and dangerous traffic situations. What could be easier than sitting in the quiet and privacy of your home or office, clicking some buttons and having your treasures delivered right to your door? Your treasures may include clothing, jewelry, toys, electronics, or food items for parties or gifts. Virtually anything you need can be found online. But is online shopping safe?

S. Jowers, a Realtor and Internet entrepreneur in Louisiana with a very busy lifestyle has done all her holiday shopping online this year and the experience has been extremely satisfactory. Her busy life includes a moderately successful real estate career, an online cookie and gift basket shop (Sweet Blessings), children, grandchildren, and aging parents. She is also a Sunday School teacher, choir member and soloist in her church. Jowers states, “I just don’t have the time or disposition to go around fighting the crowds. I find that I can take my time shopping online and I don’t get frustrated with sometimes rude, pushy people.” Jowers reports that there have been no problems related to placing orders online. She only uses secure sites that are well established and/or have a clearly defined policy regarding shipping, returns and privacy. Jowers also finds it very comforting to shop through and support Christian-based sites.

As a Realtor, Jowers is aware of the statistics reporting that over 75% of homebuyers shop the Internet when preparing to buy their new home. Therefore, she is cognizant that online shopping is here to stay - it just requires carefully choosing your online shops.
