Hawkee Unveils New Social Network Shopping Engine in Time for Holidays
Palm Springs, CA (PRWeb) December 6, 2006 -- Hawkee today debuted Shop.Hawkee.com, a new social shopping engine that lets users compare prices, research products, find coupons and discounts, and post comments and product reviews. The site, which encourages consumers to build a network with friends to share reviews and comments with each other, offers shoppers a truly unique shopping experience.

The American Marketing Association recently released a survey indicating that 47 percent of shoppers would visit social networking sites to search and talk about gift ideas, while 51 percent would find out about store sales and discounts. Shop.Hawkee.com offers all of these features with unique social capabilities while harnessing the power of word of mouth to stay on the cutting edge of social shopping.
How Shop.Hawkee.com Works
Shop.Hawkee.com features a tag filter system that lets shoppers browse and search products by using a combination of tags. The site automatically tags items based on their features and attributes to give shoppers the most comprehensive searches possible. For example, if shoppers are interested in buying an MP3 player, they can use the tags "80gb+black."
They can narrow it down even further by clicking the "Comments" tab to read the most recent comments other users have left for each of the products listed. If shoppers are still unsure of what product to get, they can post questions right on the product pages.
Users can also use Shop.Hawkee.com's tagging feature to tag products with any word they'd like, and each product can then be put on a list they can share with friends. Shoppers can create holiday wish lists to e-mail to friends and family, as well as "have it" lists or "recommend it" lists. They can even use the tag system to keep track of what they've purchased. With the freedom to tag items any way they want, shoppers have endless possibilities.
Shop.Hawkee.com also boasts an unparalleled comment system. Users can browse comments submitted to and from anybody in the network, filter through comments and subscribe to RSS feeds on comments on any photo, product search, review or profile. The site empowers users by giving them control over every comment they receive and allowing them to delete negative comments about their photos, reviews or profiles. Consumers can subscribe to their own comment RSS feeds to know exactly when someone has posted a new comment on their reviews.
